High-Value, Non-Retail Engagement
Finova’s engagement in transport assets is focused on high-value, non-standard, and off-market assets where jurisdictional complexity, ownership structure, and governance considerations are central.
This is not retail vehicle sales, dealership brokerage, or general asset trading.
Engagement is selective and structured, reflecting the regulatory, logistical, and reputational considerations associated with large or specialised transport assets.
Scope of Engagement
Finova may engage in transport asset contexts involving, for example:
- large or specialised vessels,
- high-value yachts,
- private and commercial aircraft, and
- unique or historically significant vehicles.
Engagement is typically characterised by:
- cross-border ownership or registration,
- complex flagging, licensing, or airworthiness considerations, and
- heightened requirements for discretion, verification, and lawful authority.
Retail or mass-market transport assets fall outside this scope.
Vehicles
Finova’s engagement with vehicles is limited to high-value, unique, classic, vintage, or specialist vehicles.
This may include:
- historically significant vehicles,
- limited-production or bespoke vehicles, and
- assets held in collections or as strategic or store-of-value items.
Finova does not engage in vehicles that can be readily acquired through standard retail or showroom channels.
Ships and Vessels
Finova may engage in contexts involving commercial or large-scale vessels, including:
- cargo ships,
- cruise liners, and
- other substantial commercial or specialist vessels.
Engagement often involves considerations such as:
- flag state and registration,
- classification and compliance, and
- jurisdictional or operational complexity.
Small craft and retail marine sales fall outside this scope.
Yachts
Finova’s engagement with yachts is focused on large, high-value vessels, typically in excess of 50 metres, where ownership structure, registration, and cross-border considerations are material.
This does not include retail yacht brokerage or smaller recreational vessels.
Aircraft
Finova may engage in transport asset contexts involving:
- private jets,
- commercial aircraft, and
- high-end helicopters.
Engagement is limited to non-retail, high-value aircraft where:
- ownership, registration, and airworthiness considerations are significant, and
- jurisdictional and regulatory frameworks materially affect risk and execution.
Finova does not engage in small private aircraft such as light general aviation models (e.g. Cessna-type aircraft).
Ownership, Registration, and Legitimacy
Transport assets present inherent risks relating to:
- ownership and title,
- registration, flagging, or airworthiness status,
- lawful authority to transfer or dispose, and
- sanctions or export control exposure.
Finova approaches these contexts with an emphasis on:
- clarity of ownership and authority,
- lawful registration and compliance status, and
- consistency of technical, legal, and commercial information.
Engagement does not proceed where these elements cannot be reasonably established.
Jurisdictional and Regulatory Considerations
Transport assets are subject to:
- international conventions and regulatory regimes,
- sanctions and export control frameworks, and
- jurisdiction-specific registration and compliance requirements.
These considerations vary materially by asset type and jurisdiction.
Finova’s engagement is therefore informed by:
- awareness of applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, and
- proportional verification aligned to the risks presented.
Further detail on these considerations is addressed within Governance & Compliance.
What This Is Not
To avoid misalignment, it is important to be clear about what Finova does not do in this area.
Finova does not:
- act as a retail vehicle, yacht, or aircraft broker,
- participate in mass-market or dealership sales,
- engage in small-scale private aviation or marine transactions, or
- promote speculative transport asset investment activity.
Indicative, Not Exhaustive
The above is indicative of Finova’s engagement in transport assets rather than exhaustive.
Exceptional or non-standard situations may be considered on a case-by-case basis where alignment clearly exists. Such consideration should not be assumed.
Clarity First
Transport assets combine mobility, value, and regulatory complexity.
Where alignment exists, engagement proceeds thoughtfully.
Where it does not, clarity is provided early.
